Spanish Hills Estate sits along the Hualapai Way corridor, between Tropicana and the 215, at the edge of the west valley where it borders the Summerlin side of the metro. It was planned as a guard-gated custom-enclave concept in the late 1990s, and the hundreds of homes that resulted are individually designed on large lots.
The scale is deliberately small: roughly a few hundred custom estates, so the community stays quiet and private in a way large master plans cannot be. Most homes are one-of-a-kind, with deep lots, mature desert landscaping and the walled, gated perimeter of the estate community.
It is not Spanish Trail, and this guide never treats the two as one community. Spanish Hills Estate is its own peer under the Southwest Las Vegas umbrella; Spanish Trail, with the country club and 27-hole golf course near Tropicana and Rainbow, has its own separate page.
