It was built primarily by KB Home and Richmond American Homes, with the main build-out established in 2004 and most homes built between roughly 2002 and 2012.

The plan is a family-oriented master plan of roughly 1,700 to 2,800 homes across about 9 to 14 gated villages or neighborhoods, depending on how the area is counted, all under an HOA-governed structure.
